Job Summary:
Under the guidance of BFA's Administrative Staff, this role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. The Child Care Teacher will be responsible for implementing age-appropriate educational activities and fostering positive relationships with both students and their families. Collaboration with peers, administrative staff, parents, and external care providers is essential. We are seeking several candidates with experience. Positions available in Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K age groups.


Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among students.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom that is conducive to learning.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday
  • Full-time (40 hours) or Part-time (20 hours) available
  • 8 hour shift; 4 hour shift

Requirements:

Education, Experience, and Training:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in early childhood education or related fields is preferred, but not required.
  • Associate's, Bachelor's degree, or CDA in early childhood education is a plus.
  • Certification in CPR & First Aid is required or must be obtained within three months of employment.

Work Location:

  • On-site: Columbus, Ohio 43228
  • Must have reliable transportation for commuting

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods during an 8-hour shift to engage with children.
  • Frequently required to bend, reach, and lift toys and supplies, and to lift up to 15-30 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to kneel or crouch frequently to interact with children at their level.
