About the JobWe are seeking a Food Service Specialist to join our team at Louisiana State University.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules. This includes serving meals or preparing for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. The Food Service Specialist will also be responsible for cleaning kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Storage of food and supply items in accordance with safe food-handling procedures is another key responsibility.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparation of Food Items: Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.Serving Meals: Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store food and supply items in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.Record Keeping: Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.Maintenance and Safety: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed. Assist in reporting needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.Teamwork and Communication: Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers. Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $15-$18 per hour depending on experience.
