Salary: $18-$23/hr based on experience and skillset.
Schedule: Will work full-time hours Monday-Saturday.
The Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant assists our Internal Medicine specialist and the rest of the Internal Medicine team with patient care, restraint, monitoring, treatments, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine in-house laboratory work, educates clients regarding Internal Medicine patient care and procedures, and assists with diagnostic procedures (ultrasound, endoscopy, aspirates, biopsies, etc) at Caring Hands Animal Hospital. The Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant operates under the supervision of the Management Team and works directly with our Veterinary Internist.

Physical Demands:
To successfully perform the primary functions of this job, the candidate must have the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, walk, sit, talk and listen. Frequently use hands to manipulate, handle or feel (palpate); will reach with hands and arms. Use strength or agility in restraining strong, active animals. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance where needed. Occasionally handle dogs weighing up to and over 150 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards associated with aggressive patients; hazards associated with infected animals and controlled substances; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises; exposure to bites, scratches and animal waste.
