Summary:
A Line Cook prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Points guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic and Profitable.
- Perform all duties by providing outstanding service efficiently in an ever-friendly demeanor.
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks
- Plating prepared foods based on senior chefs guidance
- Working with servers and cashiers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
- Willingness to shift to other stations and/or assignments as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Work on your feet most of the day with minimal break time (lunch is often on the fly).
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
- Effective and friendly communication skills with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Comply with company dress code.
- Retail background a plus.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Team-oriented.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
- Able to walk and drive on gravel roads in inclement weather
