Job Description
Key Responsibilities Ensure the accuracy of incoming supplier materials by utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machine programming capabilities to validate them against part print specifications. Develop and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment. Develop project methodologies, proposals, and parameters to drive quality and efficiency. Create and utilize inspection procedures, prepare documentation, and recommend corrective actions for deficiencies. Establish and apply quality standards in accordance with company and customer requirements, developing and conducting related tests. Analyze operational data, develop recommendations, and participate in internal and supplier audits. Evaluate work methods, procedures, and policies, tracking qualification status, reviewing reliability test results, and determining non-compliant product disposition. Utilize drawings, specifications, industry standards, and sketches to adapt inspection measuring devices and procedures as needed. Interpret technical drawings and specification requirements.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for dimensional metrology inspections.Experience with Hand Tools for Metrology - Surface Plates, Pin Gages, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.Zeiss CMM Calypso Programming experienceMitutoyo Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) experience (optional)Knowledge of Precision Machining, Secondary Processes, Coatings, Platings, etc. (optional)Functional Knowledge:Demonstrates expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplinesBusiness Expertise:Awareness of best practices and integration with other areas; knowledge of the competition and market factorsLeadership:Acts as a resource for colleagues; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsProblem Solving:Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on analysisImpact:Impacts customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teamsInterpersonal Skills:Explains difficult information; works to build consensus
