We are seeking a talented and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This position is perfect for someone with a strong background in network management, as well as experience in systems administration, particularly with Microsoft Office and other enterprise software.
Position Overview:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting of our organization's network infrastructure. The role requires hands-on experience in networking protocols, hardware, and security solutions, as well as familiarity with systems administration practices, especially in environments utilizing Microsoft Office tools and Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise in network engineering with a strong understanding of IT systems administration to ensure the stability and performance of both network and system operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Network Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for network issues, both on-site and remotely, including diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues, bandwidth problems, and hardware/software malfunctions.
Systems Administration: Assist with the management of Windows-based servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other critical systems, ensuring they align with the organization's networking needs.
Security Management: Implement and monitor network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other cybersecurity measures.
Monitoring & Reporting: Use monitoring tools to track the health of the network and systems, identifying potential risks and performance bottlenecks. Prepare regular reports on network performance, security, and usage trends.
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with other IT staff, including system administrators, to ensure integration between network infrastructure and enterprise systems. Document network configurations, changes, and procedures for future reference.
Microsoft Office Support: Assist with the integration and optimization of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) across the organization, including troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation across networked environments.
User Support & Training: Provide technical support to end-users regarding network and systems-related issues, including troubleshooting connectivity problems, VPN access, and basic systems administration tasks.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering or a similar IT role.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in an enterprise environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Server environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.) is preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, etc.
Hands-on experience with network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
Knowledge of network security practices, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
Basic to intermediate experience in systems administration in a Microsoft-based environment.
Certifications (Preferred but not required): Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
CompTIA Network+
Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or other Microsoft certifications.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent security certifications.
