located in peaceful, rural Franklin VA -
is hiring one MD to join our team.
Practice in a small town - have all the amenities of a coastal region with 1.8 million population near the beach and bay!
- Full Time position - 40 hours - M-F 8a-5p
- 1 other MD in practice
- 1:1 dedicated support by CMA
- Practice also provides routine medical care for adjacent 5-star nursing home
- Practice located on the campus of Southampton Memorial Hospital
- EPIC EMR
- Telehealth/evisits via My Chart and Doxy.me
- Call 1:2 or 1:6 negotiable - light volume - no hospital responsibility - 100% outpatient
- Average 20 patients per day (after ramp up period)
- Well-established patient panel - room for growth, too
- All adult/geriatric patient panel
- Currently no in-office procedures - open to it
- Provider should be comfortable with women's health - No OB
- Occasionally precept med students from EVMS
- 3rd Year Residents encouraged to apply
- Qualified candidates will have completed a U.S.-based Residency Program
- Bon Secours is a not-for-profit company and eligible for participation in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

Bon Secours Franklin Internal MedicineFranklin Internal Medicine is a busy, well-established internal medicine primary care practice, with a large patient panel in a medically underserved and healthcare provider shortage area. The practice team includes one part-time, long-term MD, a practice manager and two CMA's to support the providers. We are on the campus of Southampton Memorial Hospital, so access to hospitalists, surgeons and other specialists is very convenient for patients.
Franklin, Virginia and the Surrounding AreaFranklin, Virginia is a beautiful town of 8,400 situated in the Tidewater region of Virginia. Southampton Memorial Hospital is the sole community provider and has a market drawing area of 44,000. The City of Franklin and Southampton County are referenced as being in the "middle of everywhere." This southeastern Virginia community is only a few miles from the North Carolina border. Forty miles to the east lay Norfolk and Virginia Beach, famous for its shipping and seaside resorts and the beautiful Atlantic Oceanfront! One hour to the north are the historic attractions of Richmond and Petersburg. Also within a one hour drive is the famous restored colonial Williamsburg. Within two hours drive are the fishing and resort areas of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Franklin offers an extraordinary quality of life that can be found in few other towns. It boasts excellent schools both public and private including a community college. The climate is very agreeable with four distinct seasons. Southampton Memorial HospitalSouthampton Memorial Hospital, established in 1963 is a 219 bed healthcare facility. The facility underwent a $24 million renovation with new construction of the ED and OR in 2004. All patient rooms at the hospital are private.
Services include cardiopulmonary, general surgery, orthopaedics, gynecology, home health, ICU, emergency services, full service laboratory, imaging services, nuclear medicine, physical rehabilitation and long term care. There are 40 active staff members, 42 courtesy staff and 17 consulting staff.
