JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager will directly manage the Institute on Aging's procurement and strategic sourcing function, supplier relationship management, tactical buying for indirect requirements, inventory location, and act as a backup to the Director of Procurement. As the Manager of the Purchase Order and Inventory procurement group, this person will mentor a team of professionals to ensure cost-effective sourcing of services for all Institute on Aging departments.

This role is responsible for cultivating strong supplier relationships and providing excellent customer service to internal and external business partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviews and negotiates purchase requisitions and purchase orders, manages vendor relationships, and strives toward continuous improvement in cost reductions and performance.
  • Directly manages two Senior Buyers, and one Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Supports and maintains company-wide purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Supports and maintains NetSuite Advanced Procurement throughout IOA.
  • Inventory Management (Planning, Procurement, Reporting) via the Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Identifies opportunities with Group Purchasing Organizations to drive cost reduction.
  • Provides Procurement support for a variety of projects.
  • Monitors organization performance to ensure timely and accurate request for quotes, purchase quotations and purchase orders.
  • Partners with Accounting to ensure to efficient procure to pay process and compliance with company policies.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and lead procurement related projects for ongoing process improvements.
  • Core competencies should include supplier relationship and risk management, strategic sourcing, and spend analysis.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement practices preferred.
  • Multi-tasking.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to express ideas and convey information effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workloads and deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and/or university (preferably in Business Management, or related field)
  • 3+ years' experience in contract management.
  • 3+ years inventory control experience.
  • NetSuite software experience highly desirable.
  • Three (3) years' management or team-lead experience.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience managing internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing/supplier analysis/RFP Process.
  • Superior analytical, tactical, strategic, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation: $111,055.41 - 139,840.97 USD Annually
