Job Title: Registered Nurse (Labor amp; Delivery Specialist)About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to expectant mothers during one of the most significant moments of their lives.Salary and Benefits: The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and newborns, ensuring a safe and positive experience throughout their stay. Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Conduct thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and administer medications as prescribed by physicians. Participate in emergency situations, such as code blues and fetal distress alerts, and respond accordingly. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including medical history, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care, as well as provide emotional support and guidance throughout the process. Foster strong relationships with colleagues, hospital staff, and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination and referrals. Stay current with the latest clinical guidelines, research, and best practices in labor and delivery nursing. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and educational programs to enhance patient outcomes and professional development.Credentials and Experience: To be considered for this role, you must possess: A current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license. At least two years of experience in labor and delivery nursing or a related field. BLS/CPR certification within one week of hire. ACLS preferred, but not required.
