Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The position involves administering respiratory care services in accordance with department policies and procedures, providing input to the clinical evaluation and technical aspects of administered care. Patient care includes care to patients in various age groups, from neonatal to geriatric.Main Responsibilities:Administers physician-prescribed treatment/testing to patients in all clinical areas.Performs physician-ordered arterial blood sample collection and subsequent analysis.Establishes, monitors, and adjusts ventilator management of critically ill patients.Provides complete and accurate documentation according to department policies.Secondary Functions:Confers with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient respiratory care plans.Provides technical assistance and guidance to respiratory technicians and assistants.Confers directly with patients in their provision of therapy and patient assessment.Performs other related duties, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and supervising respiratory therapy students.Requirements:CPR certification.Certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the PA State Board of Medicine.Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program.Preferred Qualifications:One year of neonatal intensive care experience.One year of arterial gas punctures.One year of ventilator management.Registry through NBRC - one year.Work Environment:Exposure to biohazardous waste, blood-borne pathogens, extreme noise levels, and high pressure steam/gas.Benefits:100% tuition assistance at The Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences.Paid time off and paid holidays.Shift, weekend, and on-call differentials.Health, dental, and vision coverage.Short-term and long-term disability.Retirement savings account with company matching.Child care subsidies.On-site gym and fitness classes.
