Summary of Registered Nurse responsibilities: Assess patient needs, develop individualized plans of care, implement and evaluate care, and maintain infection prevention standards.Registered Nurses at Northern Arizona Healthcare coordinate care for patients and their families, providing direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning. They follow the nursing process and provide leadership for ancillary personnel. RNs practice within the ANA Scope of Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.Assesses patient needs and conditions by gathering relevant patient health information.Identifies outcomes, develops a plan of care, and implements the plan to achieve expected outcomes.Evaluates patient progress, revises diagnoses, outcomes, and plans of care as appropriate.Provides quality and safe patient care, respects patient privacy, and treats patients, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.Performs aseptic techniques, maintains infection prevention standards, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Assists with procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and reports safety incidents.Registered Nurses at Northern Arizona Healthcare must have an active, unrestricted Arizona RN License, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification.
