Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and work closely with the circulating nurse.
- Terminally clean the operating room after each procedure and restock supplies.
- Under the direction of a registered nurse, carry out all scrub duties as outlined in the department procedure manual.
- Create and maintain a sterile field and provide instruments to the surgeon.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Must be proficient in sterile techniques, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Must be knowledgeable in the proper technique in handling, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments.
- High School diploma or GED
- Active BLS certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- One year of Surgical Technology experience
- Graduate from an accredited Certified Surgical Technology Program
- Certified through the NBSTSA
