Job Summary and Qualifications

The Lead Apheresis RN demonstrates advanced knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served as per Scope of Service. S/he demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of hematologic malignancy and general oncology patient populations to include Stem Cell Transplantation, stem cell apheresis and photopheresis. S/he utilizes nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients. S/he demonstrates expert ability to perform technical skills and procedures relevant to the area of specialty. S/he promotes customer service initiatives. S/he develops and maintains the stem cell collection facility quality management plan including but not limited to FACT/ FDA standards, collection processes and collection facility equipment in collaboration with the Regulatory Manager and Center for Blood Cancer leadership team.

EDUCATION: 

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 

3 years clinical experience with hematology-oncology and/or apheresis populations.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Currently licensed as a RN in the state(s) of Florida and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. BLS required. ONS certification required within 6 months of hire. OCN certification required within 1 year of hire.
